They supply fresh water rinse, add at least 1 cup of white vinegar should remove all traces of detergent to. His problem is that the rug was too big for their small plates and water can not circulate properly and remove detergent.
I agree with Julie ... Re-wash with a cup of white vinegar, and do not use detergent to wash again.
But I would add that the spots were probably caused by the softening or detergent. I wash my blankets, quilts, blankets and large the whole time and never had stains. If you wash these items, Tho, I can not use fabric softener and use a liquid detergent.
Just my 2 cents.

I sprayed a degreaser and stain remover and let stand on the spot, then rinse and wash. If a stubborn stain, you can use white vinegar and scrub in the distance, then wash and rinse.
